I’m going to switch things up here and blog about a breakfast I enjoyed just today in Napa Valley. Only an hour or so drive from San Francisco, Napa is a great weekend getaway and hosts a large variety of excellent upscale restaurants (oh, and wineries I suppose, as well). Napa is a great way to switch things up on the culinary side, and treat yourself to a fancier meal.
On this specific Thanksgiving weekend, my family and I enjoyed a weekend getaway in the town of Carneros – situated between Napa and Sonoma. Besides eating breakfast amongst one of the most beautiful views this world has to offer, my smoked salmon bagel, latte, and fruit salad made for one hell of a morning.
Before I get too into details, the Carneros Inn, is a resort and thus you have to be a guest staying there to enjoy their meals. Besides this fact, I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to treat himself or herself. The wait staff offered impeccable service and were happy to make any substitutions to the meals. Although this breakfast aired on the pricier side of things, the view, quality of food, and overall dining experience made it more than worth the hefty tab. Or maybe I’m just saying this because it was my parent’s treat… Either way, if you have someone paying your tab, then this is the place to go!
Everyone’s eggs at the table were cooked just the way we asked – runny and soft. Although eggs can seem like a no-brainer, it’s not always easy to make everyone at the table happy. Besides the eggs, the pastry basket at the beginning offered a fun selection of pre-meal bites, and the side of fruit was fresh and plentiful! All in all this meal was a hit for everyone at the table. I can’t wait to see what this place can do for dinner..
